Claremont Fan Court School pupils celebrated today after receiving superb GCSE results. Their grades exceeding any pre-pandemic results at Claremont and matching those of 2022, even though country-wide GCSE grades have been lowered this year. Almost 83% of grades were in the 6 to 9 range and over 30% of awards were the very top grades of 8 or 9.

William Brierly, headteacher commented ‘I am very proud of these pupils, it has not been the easiest of years for many of them, but they have unanimously risen to the challenge with results that exceed pre-pandemic data. I am excited to see how they will progress as they move on to A levels and their careers. The broad choice of subjects and type of qualifications on offer at Claremont mean that students looking to pursue careers ranging from medicine to the arts are well served.  The diversity of interests here are part of what make our sixth form such an exciting and inspiring place to be.’

Pupils Ella and Maya commented on the tremendous support that all students in Year 11 have received from their teachers. Ella said ‘If I ever needed help our teachers were always available at break, lunch or after school’ Maya commented ‘We attended regular subject clinics which really helped us achieve the grades we received today, we are very thankful for all their support.’
