On Wednesday 6 December Claremont Fan Court School walked to Christ Church in Esher for our annual carol service.

Pupils gathered together with our talented orchestra to sing well known carols such as ‘Hark the Herald’, ‘O Come all ye faithful’ and ‘Once in Royal David’s City’. The orchestra also performed ‘Danserye’ by Thielmann Susato and ‘The Christmas Extravaganza’ by Tony Mason. Our choir also beautifully performed ‘This Little Babe’ by Benjamin Britten; ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ by Mack Wilberg and ‘The Prince of Peace’ by Alexis Affonso.

Poppy N, Isabella L, Zachary S and Adeline I, our soloists, did an incredible job at performing various pieces to get everyone in the festive mood. They sang the first verse of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, all of ‘O Holy Night’, while also playing ‘Finlandia’ on the trombone and ‘Gavotte’ on the violin. A set of readings were also interspersed between these musical performances and carols. A huge well done to everyone who took part in this year’s carol service to make it so special.

On return to school, the pupils enjoyed some delicious chocolate brownies – a perfect end to a festive morning!

Please enjoy our choir singing ‘The Prince of Peace’ recorded from the carol service as the music to the video below.
