On 7 November we were honoured to welcome Sophie Parker to deliver a wonderful speech as part of the JGP Inspire Lecture series.
In light of Remembrance Day, Sophie opened up about her grandmother, Odette Sansom’s, life as the most decorated WW2 spy. Pupils learnt about Odette’s time as a legendary Special Operations Executive (SOE) agent. She delivered messages to resistance cells and found remote areas for British troops to perform aerial drops and scout landing zones. Pupils also listened to stories of Odette’s resilience during the time she was captured and tortured by the Gestapo.
Thank you so much Sophie Parker for taking the time to come and give an eye-opening talk to our pupils as part of our Joyce Grenfell Programme Inspire Lecture Series.
