The U12B played against Box Hill. The opposition decided to bat first and had two strong batters, one was a Surrey opener. They both retired on 32 each with the score at 88 off 10 overs. Claremont persevered by taking wickets ending the innings on 132/10.
U12B then chased the score down which seemed impossible but did it with 2.2 overs and 6 wickets in hand. Finn B scored a very good 17 with his partner Oliver B playing a supporting role.
Felix and Thomas S. rode for 6 continuous days during half term covering 360km with 970m of elevation on the Danube cycle trail. Their longest day was 85km in the saddle. Well done to both boys.
The U14 girls won their match 2-1! A competitive game with some great football on both sides!
Orleans Place had more chances in all honesty but the heroics of our goalkeeper, Jade H, along with the defenders in front of her kept Claremont in the game throughout!
Claremont took the lead just after half-time with a strike from outside the box, low into the bottom left corner from Eloise P, but was quickly pegged back when Orleans Park lobbed Jade after a long ball.
With 10 minutes to go, Freya M scored what proved to be the winning goal in a very similar way. Another great long ball from Jade H, a staple of the game all match long, was misjudged by the Orleans Park defence and Freya managed to slide the ball home while holding off the recovering challenge.
Stalwart defending all across the pitch was enough to see Claremont over the line for the 2-1 victory.
Player of the match goes to Jade H for a brilliant imitation of a brick wall in front of our goal, as well as starting a lot of our more dangerous attacks with her kicking!
Ben C has had a very full tennis schedule during half term. He has travelled from one end of the country to another, from Middlesbrough in the North to Portsmouth in the South.
Ben won another singles grade 3 against a good northern and Scottish competition. His dedication to training and his determination are paying off.
Ben has now qualified for his first Tennis Europe Junior Tour Cat 1 (International) event in Bournemouth next weekend and as a school community, we wish him the best of luck. He is now in the qualifiers with some brilliant British and International talent to compete to enter the main draw.
