Congratulations to all of our teams who played incredibly at the Lacrosse Nationals this week. It was one of our best ever performances all around with our U15A reaching the finals and unfortunately lost to St. Swithin’s in a very tense final. The U19A reached the last 16 in the Championship competition – their highest ranking to date. U13A’s reached the quarter finals and our U14A’s finished in top 16. We are so proud of you all.
We wish the U13B & C and U14B teams the best of luck next week in the Coloma Cup Lacrosse Competition and our U15B Lacrosse team will have their chance at Nationals as this has also been rearranged to next Tuesday.
the 1st XI football team played tremendously well against Dunottar in the end of season game under lights at South Park FC. Claremont settled into the game and started to move the ball successfully across the back line and into midfield. There were a few half chances throughout the second half and some solid performances from Freddie A, Laurence R, Charly W and Harry W. Great way to end the season with a 1-0 victory.
The U14 girls played against the U15A Wimbledon High School team in the Sisters in sport cup. Anais off in the second half and the longer ball was effective allowing her to score another three goals to tally four for the match. Chloe A scored a final goal to win the game comfortably for Claremont. Some great performances from Lara S, Poppy M, Olivia M and Grace B.
It was great to see our golfers back in action playing at Wimbledon golf course in the Independent Schools Golf Association Plate Competition against St. Paul’s. It was a tough course, Tristan G, Max G and Theo H went up against St. Paul’s in a Stableford handicap competition. Claremont won the competition and are now through to the National plate finals which is due to be played after Easter.
Our U13 Rugby 7’s were fortunate enough to be able to play on Monday, whilst other 7’s tournaments have been cancelled due to weather. The boys topped their group beating Shrewsbury House, St. Benedicts’ and drawing against Wimbledon College. Fourth place finish in a 12-team field is very commendable, though with National Rosslyn Park Sevens on the horizon, this squad will need to bring the momentum with them. We wish all of our rugby 7’s squads best of luck next week at National 7’s finals.
