On Tuesday 13 June, the U15 girls were invited to the ISFA Shield Finals Day after beating Radnor House in the quarter final. The day was hosted at The County Ground in Hertfordshire where they would take part in the semi-final and then final if successful.

They started in the semi-final against Farrington’s School slowly and went a goal down early on into the game from a long-range effort. The girls quickly levelled up but then conceded again before the half time break. They came out fighting for a finals place in the second half and stunned the opposition with three long range goals from Xandi L and Minnie F to win 4-2.

We were drawn against AKS Lytham who had travelled a great distance for the match, and the girls had run out of steam and struggled to get anything going in the final third. We had conceded in the first half after losing possession from a goal kick on the edge of the box and from that moment were chasing the game. To the girls credit they threw everything into the last half of the game and put more players forward but just couldn’t create that killer chance and conceded another just before the final whistle.

The girls should be extremely proud of all their hard work and effort this season to go on a fantastic cup run and it is history for us at Claremont Fan Court School making an ISFA Shield Final.

Well done to all the girls who took part this season and we can strive to go again next year!
