Congratulations to upper sixth student and head girl, Jess F, who has been selected to attend the lacrosse home internationals as part of the England U20s squad this spring. This wonderful achievement has not been without bumps in the road after the internationals were cancelled due to the pandemic in both 2020 and 2021, however it is fantastic that Jess will finally have the opportunity to join the squad this year.

I’m more than thrilled to have been selected to attend; travelling to Scotland with the U20 squad will be an amazing first international experience.

Playing school and club lacrosse has been an integral part of my lacrosse journey and I’m grateful for the support I have received from coaches. Being part of the national academy provides an opportunity to train with elite athletes across the country that has helped me to develop as a senior player, making strong friendships in the process.

Closer to home, I look forward to supporting Claremont at the lacrosse nationals this March where many hours of training and hard work will be showcased.”

We wish Jess all the best as she prepares for the home internationals and we have no doubt there will be plenty more lacrosse successes to be enjoyed in the future to make up for the competitions lost to the pandemic.
