On Tuesday 17 October the Year 12 geographers visited Stratford, East London to study a place that has undergone a remarkable transformation in the last 20 years. They covered a wide range of locations, including Stratford shopping centre and the High Street, the Carpenters Estate, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Westfield shopping centre and East Village. Throughout the day, the pupils examined various aspects of how Stratford is portrayed and represented and collected data to support their studies.

The students were struck by the diversity of the area as well as the extreme contrasts in wealth. In total Year 12 walked over 12km so were happy to find a seat on the train on the way home!
