Year 4 Vikings invade Claremont!

Year 4 had a brilliant day on Monday 10 October. The children came to school dressed as Vikings (Norse people). They were led by Ingvar, a Viking warrior, from Portals to the Past, who led us in a series of workshops.

In the morning sessions the children explored a range of artefacts, they took part in a quiz about Viking battles, Viking Gods, runes and riddles and they learnt about how Vikings had fun, playing Fox and Geese, the Viking board game. The afternoon session the children examined Viking weapons and armour and took part in a Viking battle! The day finished with the retelling of the tale of Ragnarok.  Such a great, hands on, interactive day of learning all about the Vikings!
