This year the Pre-Prep and Nursery spotted the first signs of frogspawn in the Pre-Prep pond, also noticed by three resident ducks sitting next to the pond who were enjoying this new culinary delight! The Pre-Nursery children helped Mrs Watson rescue some frogspawn to try and raise their own frogs for releasing back into the pond. This proved somewhat more challenging than anticipated after learning that tadpoles need feeding just like fish and the water needed changing regularly. Finally after two months the children’s patience was rewarded when the first few froglets began to appear. Thankfully by this time the ducks had moved on, so the frogs were released back into the pond. It was very exciting watching them sit on a lily pad before heading off into open water.
