Wednesday’s Pre-Prep and Nursery sports day was a wonderful morning of sporting participation and achievement, even the weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm and excitement of the children. We started with the school’s youngest students participating in a range of activities designed to challenge their running, throwing, jumping and key movement skills. The children enjoyed demonstrating how well they have developed their skills this year.

The rest of the morning was taken up with the Year 1 & 2 sports day.  The day started with a series of short sprints, then the year groups split up to compete in longer races and field events, everyone came back together for the final relay races. The sprints were an opportunity for the students to compete against each other and win stickers. Everyone got into the spirit, it was great to see the students giving their all in every race. The field events were a javelin throw, a long jump and a kneeling soccer ball throw. We saw some incredible performances in all 3 events, and despite the best efforts of the pupils no one got hit with a javelin.

The morning finished with the relay races, another opportunity for the pupils to demonstrate their competitive side.

This was a fantastic well organised event, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was great to see so much support from the parents. Many thanks to all the staff who helped to organise the events and ensure the students enjoyed a fantastic morning of sporting activities.
