Delighted sixth form students at Claremont Fan Court School received their A level results today, with over three quarters of results graded A*-B and 97% of pupils gaining places at their preferred universities. Mr William Brierly, headmaster, said ‘I am so proud of all these amazing young people, they are heading off to first rate universities and degree apprenticeships including Durham, Bristol, UCL, Manchester and Leeds. In spite of the newly adjusted 2023 grading structure, the results our students achieved today are better than any pre-pandemic results at Claremont.’
Head of sixth form Mrs Emma Wells commented ‘I’m so pleased that universities and colleges have recognised that our students have worked extremely hard and have shown so much resilience over the past few years. Our students have achieved results that they should be extremely proud of, I am absolutely delighted for them all.’
Students commented on the incredible support they received from teaching staff at the school, including one to one clinics, pastoral support and specialist revision sessions which made a huge difference in how they felt approaching exams. One parent was quoted to say ‘My daughter thrived with the nurturing and support on offer at Claremont, she performed even better than we could hope.’
