The U12 A, B and C team travelled to St Catherine’s Bramley, for their first experience of a county tournament.  The A and B team were placed in the Cup/Plate competition with the C team being placed in the Bowl competition.

The U12A team were placed in a group with: GHS A, Putney A, St Cats B, Caterham B and Dunottar B. The girls performed well in the group stage and won all but one narrow defeat to Putney A. This placed the team into second place, setting up a cup quarter final match up against Dunottar. The team progressed through to the semi-final – a rematch against Putney A. After a hard-fought regulation time the game ended in a 1-1 draw meaning the game went to overtime golden goal. The end to end play culminated in a Claremont win. The final was another group stage rematch, this time against GHS A. The team saved their best performance for the final, which was played in the worst conditions of the day, resulting in a Claremont win. This is a feat that Claremont has not achieved in recent memory.

The U12B team were placed in a group with: St Cats A, Caterham A, Dunottar A, GHS B and Putney B. The B team showed great spirit and determination in the group stage but were unable to get the wins needed to progress through to the Cup quarter final. The team did qualify for the plate semi-final and were matched against Caterham B. As the rain continued to pour so did the girls’ enthusiasm and commitment. Unfortunately, the B team were unable to progress to the Plate final but the girls continued to smile and cheer on the A team.

The U12C team were placed in a group with: GHS C, St Cats D, Caterham D and Putney E. The team got off to a flying start in the group stage with 4 wins out of 4 meaning they progressed to the Bowl quarter final where they faced Caterham C. The C team continued their winning streak and progressed through to the semi-final against Putney C. There were victorious once more to set up a Bowl final clash with the hosts; St Cats C. After a stalemate in regulation time, the game went to golden goal overtime. The stalemate continued for a further 12 minutes before Claremont C team took the win with a great goal. The C team are the Bowl county champions.
