Tara Mansell who works for the World Health Organisation came to speak to the Year 12 Geography students during their lesson on Tuesday. The students listened to her fascinating talk about her knowledge of studying for a Geography degree at Cambridge University and her experiences in the world of work which has seen her posted all over the world. She is currently based in Switzerland where she specialises in mitigating health issues related to social justice.

The students asked her thoughtful questions about her experiences and Tara gave them some excellent advice for their personal statements, how to get the most out of university and possible career options related to geography. Tara also told us about some of the contemporary diseases she has been helping to mitigate such as HIV/AIDS, Ebola, COVID-19 and Monkeypox. These are issues we will study in Year 13 as part of the Population and the Environment unit.
