Year 6 had the most amazing day at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 21 November, where they performed along with 900+ other children from a variety of different schools, accompanied by non-other than, the world-renown Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  The children have been spending their music lessons learning and perfecting 6 songs which included Macavity from Cats and We Don’t Talk About Bruno from Encanto.  The event was organised and run by Barnardo’s where they raised a lot of money to help vulnerable children.

We travelled to London during the morning and soon took our seats on the famous stage where we then spent a few hours in rehearsals, first with the piano, and then after lunch, with the orchestra itself!  The concert was an amazing success!  The children sang beautifully and enjoyed watching the RPO play a variety of popular classics and film scores.  I hope that the children will remember this day for a long time!

Thank you to all the staff who gave up their evening in order that they could accompany the trip and make it possible.
