Welcome to the Junior School & Nursery

At Claremont Junior School, we care deeply about every child who joins us. We recognise the responsibility parents entrust to us, and we take pride in supporting each pupil on their unique educational journey. No two children are the same, which is why our approach is creative, flexible and nurturing. We provide an environment where curiosity is celebrated, voices are heard, and children feel confident to aim high, both in and out of the classroom. Our Junior School is made up of two distinct parts: Fan Court, home to our Pre-Nursery through to Year 2 pupils, and Stable Court, where children continue their journey from Year 3 to Year 6. With access to exceptional facilities, some shared across the whole school and specialist teaching in dedicated spaces, our pupils enjoy a carefully designed experience that builds independence, resilience and confidence. We believe that learning comes not just from success, but also from the mistakes along the way. That’s why we encourage determination, resilience and a spirit of adventure, preparing children to embrace every opportunity to learn about themselves, others and the wider world. It is a privilege to lead such a vibrant community, and my team and I look forward to welcoming you to Claremont.

Learning

At Claremont, aspirations are high and character is developed; our children embrace life’s challenges with confidence and joy.

The Junior School Portfolio (JSP) evidences our unique blend of activities, both curricular and co-curricular, that enable our pupils to become inquisitive and active learners. It encourages the development of children who are: confident and curious; skilled communicators; creative problem-solvers; leaders and team players; and individuals who are kind and caring towards each other, their community and the wider environment.

Learning

Co-curricular and sport

At Claremont we truly value endeavour and participation just as much as the achievement.
